WTO:  The United Kingdom was a member of the European Union until 31 January 2020. The European Union and the United Kingdom agreed a Withdrawal Agreement pursuant to Article 50 on the Treaty on European Union providing for a time-limited transition period until 31 December 2020 during which European Union law, as modified by the Withdrawal Agreement, continued to be applicable to and in the United Kingdom and the EU MFN applied and preferential tariffs continue to be applicable in the United Kingdom. (See WT/Let/1462 and WT/GC/206).

Pre-WTO:  Schedule XIX (19) – United Kingdom, which was initially annexed to the GATT 1947,  was withdrawn effective from 1 August 1974 when the United Kingdom joined the European Economic Community (EEC) in 1973. (See L/4067).
